Quilts Around the House
Making small projects is a great way to try out designs and practice new techniques. Many of my test projects are found around our house, from little mug rugs to large wall hangings. Here you will find an eclectic selection.
First are my newest experiments using fabric cyanotypes as a background for applique and embroidery in small wall artworks. Other recent projects are large hand-applique hangings that I donated to a locaI organization. And the gallery includes some small projects I made when we lived in Costa Rica, where I got interested in mola reverse applique and sashiko embroidery and used those techniques to depict some of my favorite tropical plants and birds.
